I’m going to be shamelessly honest and admit that I have a really hard time pronouncing the name of Cylburn Arboretum, but it is one of my favorite venues in Baltimore. With it’s gorgeous grounds, victorian mansion, epic lion sculptures, and the modern reception venue, the whole place rocks. What could make it even better? Shooting in the prime of Spring. When Bridget and Brad told me that there wedding would be at Cylburn, I was so excited!

These guys are ridiculously sweet and easy going. When I suggested their engagement session be at sunrise, they were all about it. When I suggested over an hour of time slotted out for portraits, they made it happen. Seriously, Bridget and Brad were a dream. After a pretty cold and rainy bout, on their wedding day, the sun came out, things warmed up, and the day was totally beautiful.

Out of all of the precious and hilarious moments from their big day, I’d have to say that my favorite was when all of Bridget’s brothers took turns dancing with here. There wasn’t a dry eye in the whole place.

Dawn and Shane got married at the beautiful Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach. Their day was definitely one to remember, despite some rain showers that crashed our portrait time. But hey, they say rain on your wedding day is good luck. They definitely didn’t let it slow them down, and partied the night away at the awesome Harriet Himmel Theatre. World, meet Nia & Justin. You probably remember them from their super dreamy fall engagement shoot in Old Ellicott City. If not, let me be the first to tell you that they are incredibly sweet, and incredibly funny. On more than one occasion, we’ve met up at Starbucks and hung out over coffees, so of course I was beyond excited for their wedding day. Their ceremony & reception was held at The Vandiver Inn and was filled with some epic moments. My favorite memory of the day was when little sweet Natalie gave a surprise speech (that she wrote all by herself) during the toasts. There wasn’t a dry eye in the whole place. The Elf On The Shelf made a secret appearance, AND there may or may not have been a little Michael Jackson inspired glitter glove action. It was an awesome day for an awesome couple, and I’m for sure looking forward to keeping up our Starbucks traditions! Congrats Nia & Justin!

There are weddings, and then there are experiences. Experiences happen when you involve the people you love on the days that mean the most. Family and friends get together and make it a day you’re sure to remember forever. We just so happen to be the lucky ones that get to capture those experiences. Romina & Dan had some of the most amazing family and friends, watching everyone gather for beautiful ceremony all the way to the reception, we have never seen people dance as hard as they did. They chose ‘The one and only‘ on paradise island in the Bahamas to bring their celebration to life, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Perfect destination weddings need the best to put them together, and who better then Guerdy from Ocean Flowers and Events to do that. This power team definitely makes miracles happen. Hannah & Anthony caught the tail end of one heck of a wedding season. Maryland this time of year is just warm enough to be near the water but without the humidity. Fall is clearly the right choice when getting married on the Eastern shore. This was our first time at Baywood Greens, but I hope not our last. Some of the prettiest landscaping I have ever seen in this area. I mean we could have spent hours taking portraits on the grounds. On top of that, Hannah and Anthony were also just lucky enough to have a full lunar eclipes on their wedding night. Anyhow, congrats again guys! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.

So look. If there was a hurricane projected to make landfall the day of your wedding, you’d probably be humming the tune of Alanis Morissette “Ironic,” am I right?

The days leading up to Lauren & Amanda’s wedding, I watched the weather pretty nervously. While I know you can get some pretty unique not-your-every-day-wedding-photos in the rain, not everybody is psyched for that weather outcome. But, on Lauren & Amanda’s big day, Mother Nature simmered down, the storm headed back out to sea, and most importantly, those two darling brides weren’t letting the drizzle get them down. Seriously, their positivity and HUGE smiles made it feel like we were hanging out in the tropics.

What I love about Lauren and Amanda is how kind and easy going they are. They were totally game for adventuring around the ins and outs of the church…up stairwells and down in the maze like hallways below. I tried to have them do their first look inside the columbarium because I totally didn’t know what that was (you learn something new every day). After they nicely explained that it would probably be both weird and frowned upon, we settled for the nook leading up to its entrance, since it was perfectly symmetrical and nice and private. Shooting their portraits in the National City Christian Church‘s courtyard and up those epic steps was a dream. Their reception was a blast (line dancing was taken very seriously). It was such a happy day, I’m pretty sure I smiled the entire time

Priscilla & Eddie’s wedding went down without a hitch, from their perfect first look to the strong embrace Pricilla’s dad gave Eddie right after walking her down the isle. Their venue, The Rusty Pelican has a View of Miami’s skyline that is absolutely stunning. The night ended with an awesome dance party and silly masked guests, definitely a day to remember.

Such a uniquely magical day in Pasadena for this precious couple. Although the fickle weather presented some challenges, the joy these two exuded made it feel like the sun was always shining. Their family bond blew me away. No distance could keep ANY member from attending this happy occasion, including Jesse’s brother who didn’t miss a beat with his virtual presence machine! When I was going through editing these photos for Becca and Dan, I noticed how carefully they did each little detail. Their flowers were made of folded up book pages, there were yard games and bubble gum favors, the table “numbers” were named after memories. Lets talk about Alex and John’s awesome wedding for a minute. Their attention to detail was incredible. Everything from the rose petal table runners down to John’s lightning bolt pin was carefully picked and perfect hints at Alex and John’s personalities. They were married John the Evangelist Catholic Church which had the coolest old paintings and an epic ceiling. Afterward, we went to their reception at Ceresville Mansion which was classic and charming. It was a pretty perfect day! Congrats Alex and John!

Wondering why Walkers Overlook is one of the coolest venues out in western Maryland? The venue’s owner, Mark, started his career as a photographer. Needless to say, this place is brimming with ideal spots to snag some photos. When Amy & Ryan chose this as their location, I knew it would be beautiful. Jade and Steven’s wedding was held at one of the more intimate settings we had been to this year- The Hauser Estate Winery in Pennsylvania. I loved the industrial feel of the bottling plant in the basement accompanied by the beautiful grounds above with the quant circular tasting room that housed the reception and all their guests. Both Jade and Steven love photos, and they were so much fun to photograph. They cut a huge chunk out of their day just for us and I was honored to spend that time with them capturing these priceless portraits on their wedding day.
