Jess & Brodie were married at one of my all time favorite wedding venues (at my recommendation actually)– The Mathwig Event Barn. I always feel at home whenever I get a chance to photograph here, but even more so when I get to hang out with my past couples who are good friends with Jess & Brodie. (Theresa & Mike, Keren & Derek). Jess & Brodie were such a chill couple to work with, the kind of people who seem like you have known them for years. This wedding was bittersweet however since it was the second to last we will ever get to shoot at Mathwig. Sadly, they are closing their doors at the end of this year. But we enjoyed the party while it lasted! Anyhow take a look at these two – you wont regret it.

Katie & Andy married on a perfect Spring day on April 26th. This was quite a contrast to the weather the last time I saw them at their engagement session in February- a blustery cold 20 degree day that they braved like champs. But boy were we all glad to welcome the warmth of Spring! It definitely set the mood for this romantic and intimate ceremony set against the backdrop of the rustic and stately Mount Felix Winery building. We loved the endless options of picturesque photo-ops on the grounds of this winery of course! Friends and family celebrated through the evening under a tent beneath the stars, dancing, delivering momentous toasts, playing corn hole, and obviously eating (and admiring) the delicious cupcakes! I hope you all can sense the down-home, personal feel of this beautiful wedding through these images! Special thank you to the wonderful Sarah Culver for assisting me!!

7 years in the making… (Their engagement session )Angie & Costa’s wedding was a beautiful, end of summer wedding at a quaint and sophisticated Tea Barn at Fair Hill in Elkton this past September. One thing (of many) that they nailed…expressing who they really are with their wedding style. We loved getting to know them more just by taking in all the personalized decor everywhere- from the Ravens scratchers, to the corn hole games outside, and of course the travel theme all over (including food from all different parts of the world…mmmmm!). This bride and groom LOVES to travel, have some good old-fashioned fun, and…they love to love. You should have heard the toasts from their wedding party. Everyone echoed after each other how loving this couple is to each other, and everyone around them. We were happy to be a part of one of the most momentous days of their lives

Morgan + Chris | Married 7.20.13 | Mathwig Estate Event Barn | Thurmont MD Photographer

July 20th was another visit for us to one of the most beautiful, and one of our favorite, wedding venues in Maryland- the Mathwig Estate Event Barn. Just a simple, old, wooden barn in a huge field complete with an intimate vineyard. Danielle, Ian, and I were excited to see Morgan and Chris again as we had seen them three times prior (wedding meeting, engagement session, and wedding show); they’re a passionate, young couple who are just so fun and likable. They are both so sincere and genuine- it was so easy to capture their love for each other and others. We could tell how wonderful they were by the strength of the relationships they had with their friends and family. Their wedding party prayed over each of them prior to the ceremony; Morgan’s middle school Bible study girls excitedly ooo’d and awww’d at her beauty and then tearfully watched as she walked down the aisle; her dad and her shared an unforgettable moment before the ceremony; Chris of course also made an unforgettable memory with his guys…and Ian….he split the back of his pants right down the middle before the wedding started. Luckily we had a sewing kit. Morgan never knew about this event until afterward of course and I’m sure Chris’s friends still haven’t let him live it down. Anyways, on top of all of this…Morgan and Chris made everything look beautiful, personalized, and artistic as you will soon see. Keep scrolling!
