Marian and Mark’s wedding was held downtown at the beautiful Holy Trinity Catholic Church. I love the feeling old churches have, the large stone walls and beautiful murals are really something to marvel after. After the ceremony we moved on to the Loews Madison hotel in DC. The dimly lit atmosphere mixed with the slick dance moves, made for an amazing time. There was so much love and laughs surrounding them as they said their vows and celebrated! Congrats Marian & Mark!

We’ve been looking forward to Jen & Tim’s wedding since their engagement session last year, and man, their big day did not disappoint Their venue, Antrim 1844, is a classic estate with historic charm, which we love. From the bright wallpaper in Tim’s “getting ready” suite, to the perfectly landscaped gardens, there were so many great places to shoot. Jen & Tim’s wedding was compete with an awesome sunset, some of the coolest wedding favors we’ve ever seen, and one heck of a dance party. Congrats you two!

Dumbarton Oaks is an insanely beautiful garden in DC. It’s a photographers dream. But, you can’t just shoot in there willy-nilly (is that still a thing people say?). So when Ashley & Nick said that they got us all squared away to shoot their engagement photos at Dumbarton, I was so pumped! It’s hard to take a bad shot in that place, especially when your couple is as sweet & genuine as these two. I had the best day with you Ashley & Nick! Can’t wait for your wedding!

There’s just something about New York City that fills you with excitement and wonder. We took an early morning road trip up to NYC and met Anthony & Xay. They’re the nicest, most friendly folks you’ll ever meet. We spent the day with Xay & Anthony roving around Brooklyn, looking over at the colossal Manhattan buildings from The Promenade and exploring the neighborhoods they’ve lived in. We had some pretty incredible pizza and German food at Buschenschank. It felt like we were just exploring the city with good friends, sharing a meal and stories together, snapping some portraits in the moments in between. Anthony & Xay we are so pumped to shoot your wedding at Union Mills Homestead and hang out again!

I’ve known Dani and Tony for some time now. Tony and I go way back to when we were just two teenagers with nothing better to do but go to concerts or hang out at malls. A few years later I met Dani at my second job, where we all worked, and like to think I had something to do with how they met. I was around when they first started dating and have watched them blossom to where they are now. Tony told me he was getting ready to ‘pop the question’ and, (if she said yes, lol), he wanted me to be a part of their journey and be their photographer. I was so siked that she accepted, and now I get to be a part of one of the most amazing and monumental days of their lives. I love any excuse to use my abilities to capture moments – it’s an added bonus when you get to hang out with friends while doing what you love. Congrats you two, can’t wait for your wedding!

I’ve known Diana for a long time. We met at one of my first jobs, almost ten years ago. I worked as a lab tech at a little photo store (FotoImage) in Burtonsville, MD. Diana would stop by the lab and get her film processed. Ahhh… Memories. From then on, we remained good friends. When she called to tell me she got engaged and she wanted me to be their photographer, I couldn’t have been more excited. David is a perfect match for Diana, they both have so much fun together – truly best friends. So happy for the two of you, can’t wait for your wedding!

It seems like winter would never end here in Maryland, with most of the trees just now filling their branches with new buds and waking up from the rough winter; it is a refreshing to start the spring with engagements. It took a while for Courtney & Tony to decide on a great location, but since she loves the outdoors so much, we finally settled on Great Falls, a place I have personally loved since I was little. Great Falls is such a peaceful place in Maryland, full of wildlife and natural rock walls. And we actually ended up encountering some pretty crazy wildlife, from spiders, turtles, lizards, and a giant king snake. To my surprise, Tony actually caught the snake to let us have a closer look at it. I remember saying “I don’t think it’s poisonous” blinking, and watching Tony holding the snake. Haha. Anyways, I loved hanging out with you guys for the morning. Can’t wait for your wedding!!!

Gina & Don’s big, Italian wedding was the party of the season for a couple hundred people this past October. From the traditional Catholic ceremony in Downtown Baltimore’s Little Italy, to the elegant ballroom at the Grand Masonic Lodge in Cockeysville, Maryland, and of course the long, deep blue gowns the girls were in, this was the most sophisticated and formal wedding we have had the pleasure of shooting in a while However, this doesn’t mean that this wedding party doesn’t know how to have fun, because amidst the glitz and glam, and even the yelling back and forth while Gina was getting ready (all in love of course and I can say this because my wife comes from an Italian background), there was no shortage of hearty laughter, glowing smiles, a hilarious father daughter dance, and the goofiest wedding party ever! I think we captured this wide-range of emotions, personalities, and the ambiance of the wedding day check it out. And another official congratulations to Gina and Don as your life together begins!

Melissa + Harry | Married | 10.12.13 | Vandiver Inn | Havre de Grace Maryland wedding photographer

Melissa & Harry were married at the Vandiver Inn located in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The Vandiver Inn is an 1886 Victorian mansion located just blocks from the Chesapeake Bay in historic Havre de Grace. I love the type of venue that doesn’t really need dressing up because it has so much character. Mel & Harry chose to do their first look on the water right by the light house, which we were very lucky to do because the threat of rain would have pushed us who knows where. The evening was very simple- filled with good food, great atmosphere and, more importantly, awesome family and friends. The only thing missing were Harry and Mel’s two furry children.

I met Stephanie & Glenn in Old Ellicott city a few weeks ago for a traditional Maryland fall shoot. We hit up a bunch of great picturesque spots off the main street. Their dog, Tank, even joined us at one point This cute couple is actually getting married on the 4th of July next year so naturally they had to pull out the sparklers for their engagement session for a little nostalgia. Can’t wait to see what they have in mind for their wedding day!

Kaitlin + Sam | Engaged | TLV Tree Farm | Glenelg Maryland Photographer

Kaitlin & Sam brought me out to the TLV tree farm in Howard County for their engagement session. Having grown up riding and loving the farm, it was an ideal spot for the two of them to just play around and explore the grounds. Even though I have shot portraits here a few times before, we got executive access because Sam actually used to work there on the weekends. Oh yeah! TLV is not a bad place to pick up a christmas tree for the holidays as well.

Laura & Billy | Married | Baltimore, MD Photographer

This wedding was a “ball” to shoot. First of all, Laura and Billy are an awesome couple and having met Billy’s sister, Karen, 2 years prior gave us a little more of a connection to start with. At Karen’s wedding friends and family loved having a good time, so I could only anticipate what this one would be like. The wedding took place at Holy Rosary Church and reception in Baltimore at the 1840’s Ballroom on the 4th floor which was really cool because the ballroom consists of 4 uniquely styled and themed floors.

Nothing was more important than the good time being photographed well, and honestly, they were some of the nicest people I’ve met. Actually, funny story: I was dying of thirst by the time I reached the reception hall, and I asked Billy if there was water in this giant cooler they had sitting there, his response, “There’s no water, but you can have a beer!” And the “one beer requirement” my friends, lead to some terrible acid reflux the rest of the night!

Regardless, everything went perfectly, it was a great wedding, and everyone was happy.

Theresa + Mike | Engaged | Centennial Park | Columbia Maryland Photographer

Theresa & Mike’s engagement session was at the lovely Centennial Park in Columbia, Maryland. You can usually find them taking their pup for a walk on any old regular day in the park, so naturally it just fit. Fall engagement sessions in Maryland are always coveted because they are usually graced with colorful backdrops of our changing foliage. Well, like I told Theresa after the session…fall leaves ain’t got nothin’ on the beautiful sunset we happened upon. Check it out.

Alex + Brian | Engaged | Ocean City Maryland Photographer

One of my favorite places to vacation growing up was Ocean City, Maryland. My family would brave the 3 hour drive ( Thats a lot to a car with little kids) every chance we got to enjoy the warm beaches, the inlet, Assateague island, the boardwalk, and of course Thrashers fries. Being equally as special to Alex and Brian, Ocean city was a perfect choice for their engagement session. You may notice the line of Corvettes rolling down the boardwalk in a few of the shots. There was a vette show that weekend. Anyhow, I absolutely love this session and couldn’t have had more fun with Alex and Brian. It was worth all the sand in my gear.
