( Please read the following in a British accent) I had never heard of it before but it turned out to be one of those hidden gems where you can walk 10 meters and shoot 4 different looks. The Village at Shirlington opened as Shirlington Shopping Center in 1944, and was the first large shopping center to open in the Washington, D.C. suburbs and one of the earliest in the United States. So needless to say it was full of life and character. I loved the colorful walls and the interesting architecture. Plus the dog park that Jen & Andy frequent was only a stones throw across the street.   ( end British accent )

The dark wood of the pub and the cozy booth set the mood for  a romantic afternoon date.  There is so much to do and see in old-town Alexandria- I could shoot there all day. We made stops  along the Tidal Basin to get some of the fall colors and you can even see the Monument in the background (under construction of course). We ended our shoot at a cute cupcake cafe called Buzz, where Eileen & Steve had their very first date.  They even got me  an espresso and a cupcake… Yum!
